1st Accumulating Snow Of The Season

TWC News

It wasn't much, but it was a reminder that we are getting close to winter, and this is Rochester.

Lake effect snows Sunday evening and overnight into Monday brought anywhere from a trace to just over two inches of snow in many spots.  That served as a reminder to look for your snow brush, if you park outside, and it also created some slick spots.

There were several accidents scattered around the area Monday morning.

It was also one of the chilliest overnight and early morning periods we've had so far, with temps in the 20s. On Monday, the high is forecast to be about 36 degrees, with skies turning sunny by afternoon.

There is a Lake Snow Advisory for Wayne County on Monday until 4pm, with the possibility of 3 to 6 inches of accumulation in some areas, mainly across Eastern Wayne County near the lakeshore.

The National Weather Servicesays it will turn mild by Thanksgiving, with a high then in the 50s with sunny skies.
