Bill Clinton Headlines Rally for Slaughter and Hochul

Former President Bill Clinton comes to Rochester on Friday to lend support for U.S. Reps. Louise Slaughter and Kathy Hochul.

UPDATE: Due to ticket demand, the rally has been moved to the Main Street Armory in Rochester.

Former President Bill Clinton will be in Rochester on  Friday afternoon to rally support for Representatives Louise Slaughter (D-Fairport) and Kathy Hochul (D-Amherst), as both incumbents are in close races according to recent Siena polls.

Poll: Slaughter slightly ahead of Brooks in 25th Congressional District race

Congresswoman Louise Slaughter (D) and Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks (R) head to Friday's Voice of the Voter debate separated by 5 percentage points.

Congresswoman Louise Slaughter has a slim lead over Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks in the 25th Congressional District race, ahead of their Voice of the Voter debate on Friday night.

According to the latest Voice of the Voter poll conducted by Siena College Research Institute, the incumbent Democrat leads her Republican challenger by 5 points, 49 percent to 44 percent. The telephone poll of 800 likely voters has a margin of error of 3.5 percentage points.

Karen Trueheart Remembered

Karen Ellingson Trueheart

Members of the Rochester community are mourning the loss of an active community member with deep roots in Rochester.

Karen Trueheart passed away last week after battling cancer.  She was a spiritual teacher and counselor for Christ Episcopal Church in Pittsford, and served as Board Chair of the MK Gandhi Institute.  Executive Director Kit Miller says Trueheart was a living example of the principles on which the institute was established.
